  According to the affidavit, filed with a criminal complaint in federal court this week, her boyfriend, Ricky Gonzalez, 18, wrote on his page on March 24, the day after the robbery, “Wipe my teeth with hundereds (sic).”

  Taylor’s son, Adam, was similarly targeted in a parking garage in Columbia, Mo., in June 2009. A group of teens randomly ambushed the then-25-year-old, hitting him and kicking him as he lay on the ground writhing in pain. They told police they wanted to find an unsuspecting person and knock them out with one punch as part of a game called “Knockout King.”

Mr. Culhane died in 1996, a pioneer whose six decades in animation included the sequence of the dwarfs marching and singing “Heigh Ho” in the 1937 film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”

  A serendipitous discovery by academics at The University of Nottingham has shown that a simple illusion can significantly reduce — and in some cases even temporarily eradicate — arthritic pain in the hand.

  Tommy Adams, county sheriff for a little more than two years, was arrested earlier this month after giving meth to an informant at his cabin on a remote and hilly gravel road, according to a court document. He also allegedly snorted the drug himself with a straw. Authorities would not detail the extent of Adam’s alleged meth involvement, but charged him with meth distribution. He is being held in Cape Girardeau County jail on $250,000 bond.

  The cost of a worst-case nuclear accident at a plant in Germany, for example, has been estimated to total as much as €7.6 trillion ($11 trillion), while the mandatory reactor insurance is only €2.5 billion.

  “The €2.5 billion will be just enough to buy the stamps for the letters of condolence,” said Olav Hohmeyer, an economist at the University of Flensburg who is also a member of the German government’s environmental advisory body.

  “Suge Knight ordered the hit,” Poole said, adding that he believes it was arranged by Reggie Wright Jr., who headed security for Death Row Records.

  Reggie Wright Jr. told CNN he had nothing to do with the murder, and Knight has repeatedly said he had nothing to do with the crime. Poole said he retired early from the LAPD, in part, because he was thwarted in following leads in the Wallace case involving police officers, some of whom worked off-duty for Death Row Records.

  “I think I was getting too close to the truth,” Poole said. “I think they feared that the truth would be a scandal.”

  One of the officers Poole said was involved is David Mack, who was sent to prison for robbing a bank in 1997, the same year Wallace was killed.

  Poole said Mack owned the same type of car driven by the gunman who shot Wallace, and Poole said a friend of Mack’s resembles a police sketch of the shooter.

You see, to the American Idol-watching public, “Regulations” are nothing to fear. And heck, why not get the government more involved in the internet, right? What could possibly go wrong?

Here’s the first in a series of posts where I drop some musical artists who’ve inspired me. Too lazy to really write about ‘em, so I’ll just cut ‘n paste some info.

“The Ultramagnetic MC’s released a new school classic in 1988, Critical Beatdown, introducing many new sampling techniques. Many believe that without the group’s primary producer, Ced Gee, the golden era of sampling may have looked very different. Ced, while uncredited, also produced the majority of Boogie Down Productions‘ seminal Criminal Minded. These albums are among the first to use “chopped” samples, rearranged and edited to change context. Both albums also feature many James Brown samples, which became very prominent in Hip Hop in ensuing years. KRS-One has been quoted as saying that he was very close to joining Ultramagnetic MC’s early on. Paul C. was also a major contributor to Critical Beatdown, producing “Give The Drummer Some,” and engineering most of the album. Paul C. also produced the Hip-House mix of “Traveling At The Speed Of Thought”, which was used as the group’s first music video, and was their sole release in 1989. The single’s b-side, “A Chorus Line”, became one of Ultramagnetic’s most popular songs and introduced new group affiliate Tim Dog. A variation of the “A Chorus Line” instrumental was used as the basis of Tim Dog’s debut single, the Ced Gee-produced “Fuck Compton“, which became a modest hit and is credited with helping to spark the East coast/West coast feud of the mid ’90s.” – Wikipedia
